Life in the Dog-House
This is our newly built home. It backs on to 12 acres of my family's farm land, across the field from the farm house I grew up in. Only 5 minutes from the town of Perth, we reside in a sanctuary of hayfields and trees on the original farm land to this now suburban area.  Our home offers 2800 square feet of living space for my family and our furry visitors. We are currently working on landscaping and looking forward to having it completed by the end of next summer, 2009. In the mean time we invite your four-legged family to enjoy the rich farm landscape and wilderness around us.





  
Above are pictures of our front foyer where you can normally expect to see Abby-Pig lounging on her piggy pillow.  The ceramic floors and oak stairs make cleaning and sanitation a breeze. You may notice that our home is carpet free to avoid trapping in any unnecessary scents or bacteria left from previous boarders.

Our Kitchen/Family Areas
Our Living Area
This open-concept great room with cathedral ceilings provides our kitchen, living and dining room combined. This is an excellent layout allowing for convenient observation and a spacious ambiance.

Animals in our home are included in activities of daily living...although, some are more helpful than others.

The Play Room
(recently been updated, new picture available soon)
This is our partially finished lower level. This 20x20 room is an excellent area for free play time or introducing new animals.  The room is fully equiped with pet friendly toy baskets and lounge furniture. Again, there is tonnes of natural light and a walk out door to an outside toileting area.

Side Yard

This area has not yet been landscaped, but offers addition space and potential.

This is the other side of the house. We have created a walking trail through the hayfield to my family farm.
In the fields beyond the fence line you'll observe 7 human and canine friendly horses.
Swimming is a Must on Hot Days
Accessible kiddie pools are located all over the property.
Our Dinning Area
Throw pillows and doggy beds are scattered throughout this room, promoting comfort and a touch of home. The patio doors and large bay window off plenty of natural light and easy access to the outdoors for bathroom breaks.
Our Office/
Teaching Room
This is my jazzy office area. While I make phone calls, do research and write reports my furry friends nap on the pillow beside me. My Partner teaches guitar lessons and provides lessons occasionally in this area as well. There is a tether ring located beside the pillow for behaviour modification & training purposes.

The Rest Room (literally)
 This is our 15'x10' bathroom which seconds as a rest room or 'down time' room for the four-legged. All dogs, especially ones going through a behaviour modification and/or training program,  need a safe & quite area to be alone and relax. This room has two tethers and two dog beds for down time.
The Bedroom
The master bedroom acts as a restful space for bonding and relaxation. Regardless of old wives tales stating "sharing your bed makes you dog think he's the boss", so long as you remain in control of  granting access to this area, you can still retain your leadership role. I will often spend one-on-one time with a four-legged friend, snuggled up with a good book in this quiet and private area of the house.
Outdoors









This is the porch located at the rear of the house, accessible through the patio doors in the dinning/living room. The porch acts as an observation deck of the activity in the fenced yard.

There are various fenced-in areas and kennels behind the house to ensure safety while enjoying the outdoors on the farm. We will continue to expand our fenced areas over the next few years.
